Constitution & Bylaws Update

The elders are excited to share the updated Constitution and Bylaws with our church family.

Every section of the rewrite was covered in prayer. As we navigated our way through this process, we wrestled with various perspectives, discussed options at length, sought wisdom from the Lord and from other healthy ministries that are a few steps ahead of where BBC is currently, and sought unity in every section. While we acknowledge that the scriptures are the only document that is “inspired and inerrant,” and that the Bible holds the most important place for us as a ministry, our prayer is that the Constitution and Bylaws will allow us to have clarity and unity as a ministry as we proclaim and apply God’s Word in the days and years ahead.

In recent weeks we shared this new document with several ministry leaders and continued to fine tune the document as they raised great questions.

Now the elders are excited to allow you, our church family, to begin reviewing this new document. We will schedule times for Q&A before our June 4th congregational meeting so that we can address or clarify any details prior to the date we intend to vote, and Lord willing, approve the Constitution and Bylaws.

We pray that this document will serve our church family well not only in our current season, but to also provide guidance for how we operate as we grow in the seasons ahead. Click the button below to view our pending Constitution and Bylaws.

BBC Constitution & Bylaws

As we have updated the Constitution, we also have realized our need to update our Articles of Incorporation with the State of Texas. This update will also require member approval which we will include in our 6/4/2023 congregational meeting. Click the link below to see the updated Articles of Incorporation. The provisions in yellow and lined through are removed. Changes made are consistent with our Bylaws and Constitution, as applicable, already published for review by the congregation. Only portions of the Bylaws and Constitution are required to be included in the Articles of Incorporation. Many of the changes are simply to names and addresses of the Church and elders. Please look over and be ready to vote in our 6/4/2023 meeting.
