Taking Christ to the Poor in Haiti
Jean and Jean-Marie were both born and raised in Haiti until their pre-teen and teenage years. They then moved to the United States with their families. After the devastating earthquake that struck on January 2010, the church in Haiti has experienced exponential growth, but most of the pastors and lay leaders have little to no theological training. Over the past several years the Lord began to place a burden on the Josephs’ hearts to return to Haiti and help equip and establish church leaders and advance the gospel in their homeland.
While living here in the US, God blessed Jean with the opportunity to attend Dallas Theological Seminary. He is taking full advantage of that training and is working to equip pastors and Christian leaders in their country through a Bible school. At the same time Jean-Marie, his wife, is launching a ministry to care for orphans and disciple women who live in oppressive circumstances. Their continued prayer is for God to give them strength and wisdom as they minister to their home country.
In 2014 the Joseph’s officially partnered with Children’s Relief International to be missionaries to their homeland. It has been a blessing to see how God continues to open doors for them. In 2015 BBC adopted them as one of our global missions partners and we are excited to see how God will be glorified as we support them and pray for them. The Joseph’s wish to pass along a great big “Thank You!” to our church family and they look forward to see how God leads them in their adventure to serve Him.
